All Tai Chi movements should initiate in the feet. Therefore, we should assess and be aware of the shoes we are wearing and their influence on our posture. This short video takes a look at the postural dynamics of a typical tennis shoe and a "zero drop" shoe.
As with all things, if you make a change, do so gradually! Our body REACTS to quick, dramatic changes, and RESPONDS to slow gradual changes. REACT = potential injury. RESPOND = therapeutic benefit.
